I was driving down the Arrowhead Trail and saw a good opportunity to capture some 100+ year old pines surrounded by the colors of autumn.

I absolutely love this lake. This is Teal Lake located on the Grand Portage Indian Reservation. I haven’t seen any roads that lead to it but I’d really like to hike down to it sometime for some eye-level photographs.

An early morning photo of Pigeon Falls in Grand Portage State Park. I was staying at the Oupost Motel when I decided to get up early one morning and drive north to the park for some photographs.

This panoramic photo is of the Swing Bridge crossing over the St. Louis River in Jay Cooke State Park. This panorama was created from 5 frames shot vertically with 5 exposures per frame to capture the lights and darks.

A photo of my grandpa’s tractor left parked at his cabin before he died. This old beauty would sit outside through every long and cold Minnesota winter yet grandpa was always able to fire it up each spring.

While leaving my aunt and uncles house in rural Stacy, MN, I spotted this donkey along side of the dirt road. He was a friendly little guy who looked rather lonesome so I gave him a few pets, took a few photos and got back on the road.

sunsupwewait asked: So I see you have shots from the gunflint trail, madeline island, and even saganaga lake. That is awesome those are places I have been going to every year since I was born. My family has a cabin on Sag. I like your photos they are really impressive.
Thank you for the kind words! It must be great to have a cabin up on Sag. I’ve been going up to the Gunflint once or twice a year since the early 80’s - either camping at one of the campgrounds or doing a paddling trip. Would your cabin happen to be in the narrows there by the public access? If so you probably know Kyle Edlund. I’ve been to his cabin a few times through a mutual friend. It’s so great up there. Glad you like the photos, thanks!

I designed my first Giftcard which is now live on Target’s website here. I did everything from start to finish on this project - initial concepting sketches, photoshop mock-up, photo-art direction and final compositing. If you happen to be purchasing a Target giftcard this holiday season, please consider this one!

Fergus and I went for a drive and I saw this great opportunity to snap a photo of him doing one of his favorite things in life. Sniffin the breeze.

This is my favorite photo from my boundary waters trip this fall. This scene of the small waterfall was stitched together from 6 different photos.
